Overview
Established in January 2002 as a private company to acquire and manage growth-oriented firms in the telecommunications and cable industries, Cequel III focuses on those companies that offer platforms for future acquisitions and industry consolidation. Today, Cequel III is involved with a number of distinctive properties, including: AAT Communications Corporation, the largest privately held wireless tower-site provider in the industry; Classic Cable, the nation’s twelfth-largest cable operator; and Broadwing Communications, the world’s first and only intelligent, nationwide network that combines longhaul and ultra-longhaul transport with integrated, true all-optical switching.
Challenges
There were no processes in place with which Cequel III reconciled their payments to their bank deposits. Rather than creating a cumbersome manual process, they wanted to implement an automated reconciliation system that would match billing file data to bank deposit data. They required a system that would collect, format and deliver daily banking data and billing data, as well as daily sweep funds from depository accounts into a corporate concentration account.
