Sterling Bank operates 35 full-service banking offices in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas, Texas, and is owned by Sterling Bancshares, Inc., a publicly traded bank holding company. Sterling Bank focuses on delivering a variety of financial services to its core market of owner-operated businesses.
Challenges
Sterling Bank managed collection items with a DOS-based software solution that had become outdated. The system required maintenance and reliability suffered. An internal need for more draft business, including oil and gas lease drafts and automobile drafts, compelled the organization to review new technology that would reduce manual effort, improve collection item processing, and improve security at the operator/user level in the system.
