Remittance Standardization
The way data is created, stored and shared within the provider-payer network has limited the ability of providers and payers to adequately collaborate and process information. Paper-based processes, manual data entry, and isolated information systems hamper workflow.
To help ease challenges presented in the largely paper-based environment, Trintech can quickly turn paper remittances into standard 835s via scanning and OCR output. Additionally, to further streamline processes Trintech can retrieve, consolidate and standardize electronic remittances from multiple payers into 835s. In both cases, once conversion is completed, standard 835s are securely distributed via the Internet to providers for cash posting.
Through this data conversion and remittance standardization process, various paper and/or electronic remittances are consolidated into a single stream of data that will:

Trintech uses state of the art OCR technology to automate the paper to 835 process. Information from your lockbox and patient billing is combined with ANSI crosswalks to achieve optimum correlation.
Trintech will work with your Lockbox to ensure remittance (EOB) images are:
- Imported into an image storage database
- Reconciled to the appropriate patient accounts
- Translated into the ANSI 835 format and reconciled to the amount deposited by batch or check
- The 835s are then forwarded to the provider for posting, and any exceptions are routed to the appropriate area for resolution.
