Trintech Gives to Toys for Tots

Blog post

As temperatures start to dip, people begin closing their coats and opening their hearts for the season of giving. The holidays are well known for a generosity of spirit, and Trintechers are no exception.

Once again, Trintech chose to give back to Toys for TotsSM, an organization dedicated to brightening the lives of less fortunate and often impoverished children.

Toys for Tots was started in 1947 by Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks. His initial movement was so successful that the next year, the Marine Corps expanded his idea as a nationwide charity campaign. Although based in the United States, the program extends to children in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Every year, the Marines distribute an average of 18 million toys.

This year, Trintech has been fortunate enough to experience growth in many ways. With the expansion into a second Dallas office, Trintechers had even more opportunities to share their good fortune with others.

The 2019 Toys for Tots campaign kicked off post-Thanksgiving, in the Owings Mills and both Dallas offices, and ran until December 13th. Additionally, the Dallas offices’ campaigns were highlighted by visits from Gunnery Sergeant F. Todd Burton USMCR. Currently working as a Scrum Master in the HQ Engineering department, Todd enlisted for active duty in 2001 and has served in the Selected Marine Corps Reserves (SMCR) for the last 11 years.

Beyond the fanfare of GySgt. Burton’s walkthrough, Trintechers were fully committed to their donation mission. Up until the final drop-off date, employees were eager to bring joy to children.

In fact, across three donation locations, Trintechers nearly doubled their previous year’s donation to more than 200 toys in 2019! The Dallas boxes were picked up by a Toys for Tots representative and will be donated during the holiday season.
