Benji currently resides with his partner in London and enjoys running and spending time with his friends and family outdoors or at the pub, depending on how the London weather decides to act that day.

Mike: Congratulations on being selected for the Trintecher Spotlight for December!

Benji: Thank you, I’m very excited.

Mike: What is the most memorable trip that you’ve taken?

Benji: St. Lucia in the Caribbean. At my previous job I took time off and lived in the Caribbean for a month. It was by far the best month of my life. They have beautiful weather, postcard beaches and great people. It was an amazing experience.

Mike: That sounds like a great way to spend a month. Going back a little further, what was your first job?

Benji: My first job was right before university, and I went around to different pubs collecting money for charities. I had to dress up in a dinosaur onesie and ask everyone in the pub if they wanted to donate. It was hilarious because a lot of them didn’t know if I was real or if they had too much to drink.

Mike: Oh wow. I can imagine that being a strange thing to see at the pub. Fast forward to your current position with Trintech. What would you say is the best part of working at Trintech?

Benji: First, I love working with people, which is super energizing for me. I spend half my time working with customers and the other half working with internal departments to make sure that we’re all working together to deliver for our customers. Another thing I enjoy is that, as part of the Customer Success team, our interactions with the customer are not transactional. Instead, we’re actively building relationships with our customers. In addition, Trintech offers a lot of opportunities to work on new projects and build things from the ground up, like the Customer Champions program.

Mike: Benji, that is an excellent segue! Tell us about the Customer Champions program.

Benji: I would love to! The Customer Champions program will go live in Q1 of 2021 and was born out of a realization that our customers are in the small percentage of their industry who have embarked upon the financial transformation journey. Therefore, we like to think of our customers as innovators and we want to harness the power of this community to be mutually beneficial to our customers. As there are relatively few companies going through this financial transformation, some of the best resources for answering questions that our customers have along the way are other customers who have gone through the process. The Customer Champions program helps to facilitate these conversations so that our customers can share their successes with each other.

To get more specific about the details, once we go live, our customers will be able to fill out a form in the Success Center expressing their interest in joining the program and to which activities they would like to participate. Each activity carries with it a credit value and they can redeem credits earned for a wide range of items.

Mike: That’s outstanding! I can’t wait to see how peer engagement and feedback help our customers through their financial transformation journey. It wouldn’t be 2020 without mentioning COVID-19. What changes have you noticed this year within the industry?

Benji: One thing I’ve noticed is that customers have an increased interest in knowing where their money is going. I believe Trintech does a great job of demonstrating that return on investment for our customers and we are constantly trying to add value to that investment.

Mike: That is excellent to hear. One last question, what advice would you give your younger self?

Benji: I would say that resilience and self-confidence are key. If you put your mind to something, and stick with it, you’ll be able to achieve it.

Mike: Excellent advice. Benji, thank you so much for speaking with me today.

Benji: This was fun. Cheers, Mike.
