Meet Jason Bonvouloir

Jason Bonvouloir is one of our On Demand Services (ODS) Team Leads here at Trintech. He was born in San Diego and moved to Texas when he was 10 years old. Since then, he has lived in Allen, Plano and now Frisco, so he can certainly call himself a Texan. Jason has a wife, three daughters and enjoys participating in sports at home and through leagues with his work colleagues.

Shannon: Hi Jason! It’s so great to meet you. Thank you for taking the time today to talk me. What do you do at Trintech?

Jason: I’m a supervisor with Data Flow Services (DFS). I actually started with DFS before they were acquired by Trintech about 16 years ago.

Shannon: Wow, you’ve been here since the very beginning, but I’m not sure everyone knows about DFS. Can you explain what you do?

Jason: DFS eliminates the data acquisition burden for our customers by automating the daily retrieval, aggregation and delivery of financial data. Basically, we help customers by pulling in the balances and transactions associated with things like their bank statements, credit cards, investments, ACH transactions and armored courier activities.

Shannon: I’ve heard that’s a really popular service with our customers. How has your job changed over the years?

Jason: When I first started, online banking wasn’t available. So, in order to gather all the account balances and transaction information, we would have to call the bank line and listen to a recording that listed off all the information. If you missed anything that was said in the message, you’d have to call back and listen for it all over again. Now for most of our accounts, the bank information is available online. We can press a button and get all the account information in much shorter timeframe! Of course, we service a lot more accounts now, so it’s great that we are able to get the information more efficiently.

Shannon: What a huge change in workflow. Tell me, what do you like most about your job?

Jason: I like the people I work with, and I like helping customers. Customers call in regularly with questions, and you get to know them quite well. Our work impacts them very directly, so when I can turn a situation around and help a customer, it makes my day. Just a few weeks ago, a customer was missing some files and I was able to help them by working with the bank to get the data they needed for their month-end close. They were so excited, and so was I.

Shannon: Sounds like it worked out nicely for everyone. Now, tell me a little about your family.

Jason: I have twin girls that are in second grade and a third daughter who is four years old.

Shannon: Sounds like the girls have the advantage in your house. I bet they keep you busy.

Jason: Yes, they do. I coach the twins’ soccer team; they’ve been playing for three years. The twins are great athletes, and they seem to communicate without us even seeing it happen – making them a powerful duo. In a recent game, they scored five straight goals bringing our team back to win the game from a 2-goal deficit!

Shannon: How exciting! What about you? Do you play any sports?

Jason: I love the corporate challenge events and participate in a lot of them on the Trintech team. Softball is my passion. I used to be a pitcher, but I also enjoy dodgeball and frisbee.

Shannon: You really like to stay busy! Do you have any other hobbies or activities?

Jason: My family owns a landscaping business which definitely keeps me busy outside of work since we’re starting up our fall services. We put up all sorts of holiday lights in and around Frisco and Allen. It’s a fun change from the lawn service during the rest of the year. People go all out, and we provide everything. All it takes is a little creativity. The lights that I put up at my house are even synced to music!

Shannon: Wow, that sounds fantastic! You’re putting your inner Clark W. Griswald to work, huh?  It’s obvious you are very organized to be able to keep all this going. Can you share your keys to success at Trintech?

Jason: Oh, that’s easy. I have an amazing team, and I make sure they are trained well and have all that they need to do their jobs. My team is dependable, and that makes my job easier and makes Trintech a great place to be.

Shannon: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Jason: Well, it may sound cliché, but I would probably tell myself not to take things for granted and maybe try a bit harder in school.

Shannon: Well that is very good advice that I think we can all appreciate. I enjoyed visiting with you. Thanks again for talking with me today!

Jason: It was my pleasure.
