Owings Mills Trintechers in the Community

Blog post

Twelve Trintechers at our Owings Mills office headed out into the community in August to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in Baltimore City for a day of giving back.

The Boys and Girls Club in Baltimore City, part of the larger Boys and Girls Club of America organization which features youth education and support, services 35 children each day and members of our Owings Mills team were happy to help out.

The day began with a couple competitive rounds of musical chairs to break the ice and the fun kept going with the classroom playing word games. The entertainment moved outside for some kickball and face painting.

The kids and staff were served a meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chips veggies, fruit, cupcakes, ice-cream and popsicles – an end-of-summer celebration assembled and cooked up by Trintechers. The leftover food was also divided among foodbanks in downtown Baltimore and another youth group co-sharing the physical facility with the Boys and Girls Club.

Trintechers also took the time to bond with the kids, sharing information about what they do and presenting them with math problems to solve any time they went back for seconds. Trintechers encouraged the kids to continue their STEM educations.

“We took time to share information about Trintech and what we do,” Product Manager Nichole Weems said. “Seeing the children excited about a STEM related career warmed my heart.”

The day of giving back reflects a culture of community service found within Trintech.

“Trintechers receive two fully paid days of volunteer leave annually for the purpose of investing in and supporting our local communities,” said VP of Human Resources, Erinn Gray. “The Owings Mills team was very motivated to reach out to and work with the Boys and Girls Club of Baltimore City, and the photos from that day show how much they enjoyed the experience.”

All the kids who came out and had a great time with our Trintechers left with smiles on their faces, with one young child even enthusiastically proclaiming at the end of the day, “I don’t know who Trintech is, but I LOVE Trintech!”

Thank you to The Boys and Girls Club in Baltimore City for a special day spent with lots of smiles!
