What does innovation mean to you and how do you exhibit it in your daily life?
To me, innovation means thinking outside of the box.  Everyday, we are trying to solve complex business issues and sometimes the answers are not immediately known. By thinking outside of the box, I am able to offer creative solutions to these complex issues.

How do you leverage your perspective as a woman in the tech industry?
I have been in traditionally male-dominated industries throughout my career and the tech industry is no different. I am excited that I have a seat at the table and I can offer a unique point of view. It is also imperative that I ensure other women have access to senior leadership and receive recognition when they make positive impacts to the business. At the end of the day, we all have to lift each other up.

How have generations of women in your family before you impacted the work you do in your job and/or your community?
My mother has always been my strongest female role model. She pushed towards the glass ceiling throughout her career and eventually became a CFO for a large company. She has a strong work ethic and business presence that I modeled my career after. Even when the glass ceiling was approaching and she had some failures, she never gave up. In fact, I probably learned more watching her navigate the failures and turn them back into successes.

Do you identify with any particular woman in history? Why?
I have always been drawn towards Rosa Parks. She was tired of giving in to the status quo and not standing her ground. Her civil disobedience set in motion one of the largest social movements in history. In a much smaller setting, I believe that challenging the status quo will push businesses forward and keep our teams innovating.

Thank you, Kristi, for your positivity and dedication to innovation at Trintech!
