Trintech Participates in the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day

Blog post

Earth Day 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the national holiday first established in 1970, and Trintech is proud to announce that Trintechers have continued their commitment to reduce their carbon footprint for the environment.

In 2019, more than 300 Trintechers signed the Earth Day Sustainability pledge to reduce plastic waste by using Trintech-branded re-usable shopping bags. The bags were given by Trintech to each employee that signed the pledge.

And though Earth Day 2020 looks a little different than previous years, Trintechers have gotten creative with their commitments while working from home. This year, celebrating Trintech’s third annual participation of corporate-wide Earth Day, our employees across the globe are:

  • Starting, or continuing, to recycle plastic, paper, glass, and metal
  • Planting a tree or other plant in their home gardens
  • Swapping plastic water bottles for their Trintech-branded reusable bottles
  • Reducing emissions by riding bikes, skateboards, walking, etc.

Through the hardship everyone in the world has faced during this pandemic, there is a silver lining: less people are driving their cars since stay-at-home orders were released and more people are walking outside, enjoying the green Earth while we can. We’ve seen good begin prosper in dark times— like when market competitors joined forces to fight the virus or through the countless stories of people helping each other out— and we’ve learned to be grateful for aspects of life we’ve previously taken for granted, such as going to work every day, going to the gym, or seeing loved ones often.

This Earth Day, the world has experienced more than it bargained for, but we’ve adapted quickly. Trintech is proud to partner with staff, and with customers, to give back to the communities and the Earth we cherish so dearly.
