Trintecher Spotlight – Eric Pittman
Meet Eric Pittman
Eric is the Journal Entry Product Lead for the Support team and has been with Trintech for almost four years. Eric currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and enjoys astronomy and playing his bass guitar.
Mike: Congratulations on being selected for the Trintecher Spotlight for June!
Eric: Thank you!
Mike: Let’s start with a few easy questions. What is the most memorable trip that you have taken?
Eric: I really enjoyed my trip to see my father in Washington, D.C. We went to several of the landmarks and museums and after not having seen each other for a few years it was a nice time to catch up. My father and I are both veterans, so visiting the memorials had some added significance for us.
Mike: That sounds like a great time! Where do you want to head next?
Eric: At the end of the summer, I’m heading to a dark site in the Oklahoma panhandle for some astronomy and observation.
Mike: Our curiosity is officially piqued. What is a dark site?
Eric: Simply put, it is a place that is away from city lights, so stars are more visible. Astronomy is a hobby of mine and I’m a member of the Texas Astronomical Society (TAS). Through TAS you can locate areas that are designated as dark sites and attend star parties, where you gather with other friends of astronomy to view and observe the stars.
Mike: It sounds like you keep busy outside of work. Shifting gears, what would you say is the best part about your job at Trintech?
Eric: The people, the leadership, and the direction that we’re heading as a company. In some places, the best thing to like is the physical work, or in some places it is the compensation, but I think here it is really being part of the company itself and appreciating the company’s ideals and direction.
Mike: We recently released Cadency version 10.1, what can customers expect to see in this update?
Eric: Cadency 10.1 offers improvements on several levels, especially in efficiency through workflow process and expanded options for administrators. These are examples of the continued evolution of both Cadency’s capabilities and the user interface. I expect that our customers can look forward to getting more done in the product while spending less time doing it. It is part of our ongoing commitment to help our customers work smarter, not harder.
Mike: As a Journal Entry Subject Matter Expert, which of the most recent Journal Entry enhancements do you think will have or have had the biggest impact for our customers?
Eric: I would say the expanded capabilities around streamlining and automating data collection and importing into the product for purposes of creating journals and providing feedback through that process is a great opportunity for customers by saving them significant time while also reducing risk. Letting a user know when there are data compatibility issues and giving them specific feedback speeds up troubleshooting the issue, providing greater efficiency and added peace of mind. Also, I believe the improvements in supporting our customers who use the product in different languages are really valuable.
Mike: How do you see Trintech looking ahead to ensure our customers can continue to scale without fail as they grow or expand their financial transformation initiatives?
Eric: Scaling always seems to flow in one direction—up. More data, more resources working with data, and tighter timelines. Scaling, efficiency, flexibility—they’re all part of making sure we’re ready for customer needs now and, in the years ahead. As we continue to modernize and future-proof the Cadency platform, customers can expect to see improvements in the processes they use all the time over the next few versions, with seamless integration and expanded smart workflow and smart automation capabilities.
Mike: As we finish up, what advice would you give your younger self?
Eric: Never let a bad yesterday ruin a good today and your humility isn’t a bad thing.
