Trintecher Spotlight – Meet Roderick “RJ” Gauvin!

At Trintech, we are extremely proud of the wonderful people we have as part of our company. Many customers have the pleasure of speaking with our team members on a regular basis, but not all them have the opportunity to put a face to the name or learn much more about the person they work so closely with to transform their financial processes. That all changes with our new blog series – Trintecher Spotlight! This series features interviews with various members of our team and allows you to get to know them even better.

Our first spotlight is on Roderick Gauvin from our Product Support Team. Roderick (everyone calls him RJ) has been with us for only a year and a half, but he’s had an incredibly positive impact as part of our Customer Support team as a leading ReconNET support analyst. One of our favorite things about him – he’s always ready to help!

Trintech: RJ, tell us a little about yourself.

RJ: (smiling) Lisa and I will have been married 6 years this May. We have two kids, Isaac who is 2.5 years old and Cora who is 6 months.

Trintech: A family man, that’s great. And do you have any hobbies or pastimes?

RJ: I grew up playing tennis and still enjoy playing recreationally in USTA league team tennis. I was a high school math teacher and a tennis coach for 7 years before coming to work at Trintech.

Trintech: Now, let me ask you a few questions about your role here at Trintech. As a support analyst, what is the most common question you get asked about ReconNET?

RJ: The majority of my tickets are from three issues: (1) Why didn’t my file load? (2) Why am I missing data? (3) Why can’t I do this action that another user can? All three of these questions are pretty easy to resolve.
(Trintech: Issue three is typically action-oriented, i.e., an operator’s ability to Variance an item or ‘Item Edit’ privileges to change a store number—all permissions easily configured by your administrator. Trintech Customers – Learn more here.)

Trintech: What feature in ReconNET do you feel is the most beneficial to customers?

RJ: I think the most innovative and creative part of ReconNET that I like is the Auto Reconciliation. It can reduce days and hours of item matching into a few minutes. Everyone is busy and they need to take advantage of the strength of Auto Rec.

Trintech: No pressure, but why do you like working at Trintech? (both laughing)

RJ: Trintech is a great work environment, in all seriousness. The management and co-workers are friendly and encouraging. We get time for some competitive ping-pong and popcorn stress relief as needed. Sometimes some breakfast sandwiches or loaded baked potatoes appear in the lunch room! They make us feel special!
